Happy 4th of July

As we celebrate with picnics, pools and the beach, sunburn, and fireworks we celebrate the 4th of July. Also, the birth of our nation, Independence Day. As BLS is based in PA, I am reminded that our state motto is “America Starts Here!” with the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, July 4, 1776. I would encourage everyone to read the Declaration of Independence and reflect on its meaning. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Our founders were not perfect men, they had their faults, as all men do. Nevertheless, they put their lives, fortunes and sacred honor on the line. They risked their wealth and reputation, families and life itself for their freedom. Freedom in a new land known as America. Let’s be thankful for freedom. Let’s not take for granted the wonderful opportunity that exists in this great nation! Please above all, remember that many lives and families have been sacrificed to give us our nation’s freedom. Enjoy your family and be safe this 4th of July, Independence Day.
